THE FALL

Like all compelling foundation myths, Humpty Dumpty is simple and brief, and eminently symbolic: there is a bad egg, some high drama, and all is irretrievably transformed at the end. It is the quintessential, secular loss of innocence story. In November 2020, we are forced to face some ugly, unsettling, heartbreaking realities. American exceptionalism has hit a wall. The united states are truly not. We are operating in an epistemic fog. While all the king's horses have no scruples, all the king's men have no interest whatsoever in putting anything together again. Ecological, political and social systems are broken, arguably beyond repair. These pieces acknowledge this spiraling dynamic.
